Confined Space Awareness Training

For

This course is designed specifically for those personnel who are assessing confined spaces and those who may enter or work within a confined space.
Aims


To enable delegates to understand the principles of confined space working and the legal obligations imposed by the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997.

Learning Objectives
On completion of the training successful candidates should be able to:
Appreciate the principles of confined space working.
Have an understanding of the legal obligations of the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 and associated legislation.
Complete a practical exercise using appropriate equipment.
Outline Programme

The course includes sessions on:
Legal obligations of the Confined Spaces Regulations and   associated regulations.

Hazards associated with confined space working when working underground.

Appreciation of the hierarchy of confined space risk
assessments.
Planning Safe Systems of Work

Practical exercise in a ‘live’ environment or simulation.

  • Use of gas detection equipment
  • Use of escape breathing apparatus
  • Use of personal protection and safety equipment, tripod, winch, harness and safety lines
