Construction (Design & Management) Regulations

The course has been designed for all levels of management who are responsible for safety, health and welfare issues identified in the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007.

Aims

At the end of the course the representatives will have a basic understanding of the regulations and the duties imposed upon the key parties involved in the construction process.

Outline Programme

The course includes sessions on:

estimated annual cost to society through accidents and ill health is £11 to £16 billion Legislative Overview and Background to the Regulations
25 million working days are lost annually Approved Code of Practice – ‘Managing Construction for Health & Safety’
25000 people are forced to give up work through injury Application & Notification Criteria
Uninsured losses amount to £315 per employee Duty holders Responsibilities
accidents account for 37% of profits Project Stages
accidents account for 37% of profits Assessment of Competence
accidents account for 37% of profits Practical exercises
accidents account for 37% of profits Current HSE Strategy & Enforcement Action

Certification

A certificate of attendance will be issued for those persons successfully completing the exercises undertaken.
