Display Screen Equipment ‘VDU’


The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 came into effect from January 1993 to implement an EC Directive.

They require employers to minimise the risks in VDU work by ensuring that workplaces and jobs are well designed. This course has been designed to take into account those people both at work and those working from home.

Aims

On-site investigation To develop an understanding of Display Screen Equipment, the potential for injuries to occur and the preventative measures available.

Learning Objectives
Collation of supporting documentation To ensure employees can use their VDU and workstation safely.
Collation of supporting documentation To understand the causative factors and the control measures that may be adopted to reduce the level of risk, such as arrangements for breaks etc.
Collation of supporting documentation To create an awareness of the need of correct posture.
Collation of supporting documentation To understand the fundamental requirements of The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992.
