The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health *Foundation Health & Safety
Certificate* has been designed as a first level course incorporating
fundamental occupational health and safety knowledge for all employees
that will enable them to contribute to any health and safety management
system.
The programme covers a defined syllabus and is assessed by a short
objective test consisting of 30 multi-choice questions.
Oral tests are available to ensure that candidates with learning difficulties
or disabilities can also access the training and achieve success.

Prevention of accidents and ill health
First aid at work
Workplace health, safety and welfare
Electricity
Occupational health
Ergonomics and workstation design
Health and safety law
Risk assessment
Personal protective equipment
Work equipment
Fire prevention

Manual handling
Noise.
Target Audience
Employee*s with little or no prior knowledge of
current health & safety
legislation who require a nationally recognised certificate.
